STYLING: Chinese New Year Flower Arrangement

Chinese New Year feels so different this year in our Home away from Home in London. For those who are unfamiliar, I decided to take 6-months long sabbatical leave away from Singapore at the end of 2021, to jump out of the Architectural Industry into the Floristry scene. Going back to the topic, I’m so thankful for our friend in London who’s housing us and showering us with so much love and warmth!

Chinese New Year Flower Arrangement

This year, instead of the typical red Chinese New Year decorations that we have peppered around our home, we’ve resorted to doing something simple with a dash of red, to bring in prosperity and good luck.

Floral Materials

Featuring the most gorgeous Chrysanthemum Baltazar Flame, this red number is definitely adding a pop of colour on our kitchen counter.

Here we’re sharing some the flower palette that we’ve used for this exquisite arrangement:

  • Chrysanthemum
  • Astilbe
  • Astrantia
  • Scabiousa
  • Seeded Populous Eucalyptus

Techniques used in this arrangement was learnt from my course at McQueens Flower School. Feel free to read more about my flower journey here- Floristry Course at McQueen Flower School

As usual, we employed the chicken wire as our mechanic which is a great alternative to green floral foam for this flower table arrangement.

Here’s wishing everyone a prosperous, healthy and thriving Tiger New Year! Shall this year be full of hope and opportunities! Enjoy your Chinese New Flower Arrangements with your friends and family too.
